01 Power for Benin

Country: Benin

Project location: Abomey-Calavi

Year: 2018

Installation: 2 PV installations (6.5 kWh each)

„Power for Benin“ was a collaborative project undertaken by students and faculty members of the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences and Green Power Brains. The project aimed to provide clean and reliable energy to people living in rural areas of Benin who had no access to electricity. We installed two solar installations with a capacity of 6.5 kWp each, which can provide electricity to up to 30 households. In addition, we provided training to local communities on energy and sustainable development.

The installations were designed to be low-maintenance and easy to operate, making them an ideal solution for remote areas with limited access to resources. The use of solar power also ensures that the energy generated is clean and sustainable, reducing the environmental impact of energy production.

Through this project, we were able to help improve the lives of people in rural areas of Benin by providing access to electricity, which is essential for education, healthcare, and economic development. We are proud to have been a part of this initiative, and we look forward to continuing to work on projects that make a positive impact on people’s lives.
